Turkey is a great place to visit! Turkey is a beautiful, tranquil, and culturally rich country. It is also a trip that is very much worth the money.
If you do plan to travel to Turkey, be aware that it is the most expensive to stay in Istanbul and beach resorts through the months of July and August. If you do want to visit Turkey, it is probably best to stay in one of the smaller towns or to travel there between November and March, when vacation season isn’t booming. Spring is a good time to visit Turkey because the weather is mild and the days are long. If you cannot make it to Turkey in the spring, try autumn. The weather is still moderately good; however, the days are a little shorter and it may rain.
How would you get around Turkey? Turkey provides taxis, buses, and shuttles throughout towns and cities that will take you to specific locations. Depending on which part of Turkey you plan to visit, it is also very possible that you could easily walk to your destinations.
Because of the increase in terrorism and international threats, many would think that Turkey is a very unsafe place. However, Turkey is just as safe as North America and Europe. Yes, there will always be crime anywhere you go; however, it is not likely that you will be the target of any sort of crime while visiting in Turkey. It is good to be precautious and to know what kind of situations to avoid. Like most trips, it is always important to make sure that your insurance company will cover and possible injury or damage that may take place while you are on your trip.
Since you will be going to a foreign country, it might be best to learn a few simple phrases in Turkish if you feel that you might have trouble communicating with people. It is also important to remember that while in Turkey, you will be introduced into a totally different cuisine. If you are worried about the food served, you can always bring snacks along with you while you are visiting Turkey.
Turkey is known to be a country where the four seasons are very profound. Turkey has a spring, a summer, a winter, and an autumn, and weather that goes along with these seasons. If you plan to visit in the summer, wear light clothing that will allow your body to breathe. During the summer, sun block is a must. It is also best to bring a light sweater or jacket to wear during the evening. If you visit Turkey in the spring, wear clothes that will keep your warm and comfortable in cool weather. In the winter, you will most definitely need clothes that will keep you warm.
